Nice to meet you. My name is Yoka from Sakura Collection.
Sakura Collection has been connecting young designers from around the world with Japanese traditional materials since launching the project in 2012,supporting the inheritance of traditional skills as well as providing students with international and cultural experiences.
In addition,in recent years, we have realized collaborations with designers who are participating in fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Taiwan, South Africa, Ukraine, etc.,and are also building relationships with various fashion weeks.
As part of the project, we are holding a fashion design award for students.
We would love to have your students apply for this award, so we contacted you.Could you please kindly share the information with your students?
Applicants will submit a design drawing using Japanese traditional materials, and those who are selected as finalists will be provided with the actual traditional materials and will produce the design.
The final selection is scheduled to take place in New York in January 2024. However,finalists are not required to participate in the final selection, and they can send their work to New York and send us the concept of their collection.
Based on that, we will arrange models and hair and makeup on our side, and the winner will be decided by the judges.
The winner will receive a round-trip ticket to Japan and also we will present the work at our other events.
